HAMMERHEAD  MARINE  SCULPTURES

CUSTOM WORKS IN STAINLESS STEEL, COPPER AND WOOD
BY AWARD WINNING ARTIST TED ELDER OF CRYSTAL RIVER, FL.

ARTIST INFO / PRICES / CONTACT

Ted Elder, a lifetime Artisan in many different
media, has been making marine sculptures for several
years. In 2006 Ted started using highly corrosion resistant
304 Stainless Steel on many of his sculptures. Stainless
is hard to work and sharp, but the result is well worth the
effort (and the blood). It brings a realism to silver and
white fish that cannot be matched in copper. As far as we
know, he is the only Artisan doing this type of work with
this unyielding metal. These sculptures are particularly
suited for the outdoors but are beautiful indoors as well.
Most Artists in sheet copper anneal it to make it softer
(also brown), but Ted prefers to keep it bright which
allows for vivid colors, which are brought out with heat
slowly after the piece is done. Copper will tarnish within
a year outdoors. It will take several years for significant
                                                                                 tarnish indoors.

I accept Paypal, money orders or personal
checks(add 7-10 days to shipping times).

All sculptures can be made in right or left facing.

If you would like a custom sculpture, I need the
species, size and your material of choice. Sheet
Copper is more expensive than Stainless, but
Stainless is harder to work so prices are similar.
Custom sculptures, in  most cases, must be paid
in full when I am ready to start work.

I do make museum quality wood sculptures (my
first love), but they are custom order only and
are expensive.  I can email pictures if there is
 interest.
